Michael J. Pitney Farm Run

Thank you for joining us for the 4th Annual Michael J. Pitney Farm Run 5k  and Youth Fun Run at Pitney Meadows Community Farm. 

All proceeds from the races benefit Pitney Meadows Community Farms' mission and programming. 

This race honors the memory of Michael J. Pitney, an outdoor enthusiast whose love for nature continues to inspire those who explore the trails at Pitney Meadows. Michael, an avid fisherman, golfer, and hiker, completed all 46 Adirondack High Peaks and hiked both the Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trails, covering an astonishing 4,660 miles between 2016 and 2017. His legacy lives on through the 1.7-mile trail loop at Pitney Meadows, named in his honor, where visitors can experience the same sense of adventure and connection to nature that Michael cherished.

The Michael J. Pitney Farm Run took place on the picturesque grounds of Pitney Meadows Community Farm. The 5k course is a mixed-surface route, featuring grass and stone dust trails that wind through the farm’s open fields. The course is primarily flat with gentle rolling sections, offering a smooth and safe running experience with no road crossings.
