Increasing our Commitment to Food Sovereignty
Our work to feed our community goes beyond food donations alone to empowering community members to grow their own food and to have a say in what, how, and where it is grown.
Announcing Food Sovereignty CSA Memberships
We are thrilled to unveil our latest initiative: the 2024 CSA Scholarship Program, designed to make our Pick-Your-Own CSA more accessible to members of our community. At Pitney Meadows Community Farm, we are committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, has access to fresh, nutritious food.
Increasing Accessibility
In line with our mission to feed our entire community, we have secured funding to allocate a limited number of CSA Scholarships. These scholarships are intended for individuals and families who face financial barriers to joining our Pick-Your-Own CSA.
How to Know if This Program is Right for You
We trust our community members to self-identify and participate in this food security program. If you find it challenging to afford the cost of our CSA, you may qualify for a scholarship if you:
- Struggle to meet basic needs or cover expenses
- Participate in public assistance programs
- Face significant expenditures such as uninsured medical bills or tuition fees
Contributing to the Cause
If you're in a position to do so, we invite you to contribute to the replenishment of our scholarship fund. Your gift will enable us to offer more scholarships not only this season but in the years to come.
Joining the CSA
If you're interested in joining our CSA but don't qualify for a scholarship, we encourage you to join our waitlist. Your support and participation help us continue our mission of making Pitney Meadows accessible to everyone in our community.
Thank You for Your Support!
We extend our deepest gratitude to our community for your ongoing support and commitment to making fresh, local produce accessible to all. Together, we can ensure that no one in our community goes without nutritious food.
