A Fresh Face for Our Farm Stand
Come see what’s new at the Farm Stand! With a crackerjack team of volunteers we’ve made some great renovations that will ensure food safety and have given the Farm Stand a bright, fresh look. We are open and ready for you, dawn to dusk every day, with a steady stream of produce straight from our fields, now through the end of October (or even into November, harvest permitting). For Farm Stand first-timers, the stand is the very small building on the right as you enter the property, just past the farmhouse.
The Farm Stand is self-service and convenient (stop by before, during, or after work), with all that’s on offer listed with prices (by the pound or the unit) on a chalkboard. Currently we accept cash (which you can place in a secure red box you’ll find on the wall) and also have a new self-service kiosk for using your credit and debit cards. And since we work on the honor system, we have internal and external cameras to keep an eye on things (so smile!).
As we send out this newsletter, the Farm Stand is offering lettuce and pok choi (also known as bok choi), as well as some starter plants remaining from our plant sale. If you haven’t tried pok choi, it’s a white Chinese cabbage with flavorful green leaves and is delicious in stir-fries and soups, and simply sautéed with oil and garlic as a side dish. We’ll send out updates on our Facebook page to let you know what we have each week. So stop by the Farm Stand now and all through the season for the freshest veggies imaginable. Happy eating!
