STEWARDSHIP PLAN
After seven years as a nonprofit community farm, Pitney Meadows is creating a stewardship plan that will take a thoughtful approach to how we care for the land and the relationships with the communities who visit/use it.
Pitney Meadows currently has a diversity of land experiences, including active farmland, community gardens, trails, meadow and pollinator habitat, streams, wetlands, and woodland areas. People from all walks of life interact with the farm in a variety of ways: to get healthy food, tend a garden plot, walk with friends or a dog, run on the trails, participate in an educational program, or attend an event. This stewardship plan will honor the commitments we made to the Pitney Family and the community to balance the various management goals/uses at the site, including sustainable farming, education, gardening, public access, recreation, natural resource protection, and special events.
We are currently compiling the results of our Stewardship Survey. Thank you to all that participated! Check back for updates as we continue our Stewardship Plan process.
